    The EAP Counselor-LISW/PCC/LICDC of Employee Care is responsible for providing counseling for clients, families, hospital employees, students, and employee assistance/account management for Employee Care.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Minimum Level of Education Required: Master's degree

                                                

    Additional requirements:

    • §  Type of degree:
    • §  Area of study or major: social work, Education with a focus in Counseling, or Nursing with a focus in Counseling from an accredited university required.  
    • §  Preferred educational qualifications:
    • §  Position specific testing requirement: N/A

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

    Licensed Professional clinical Counselor (PCC), or
    • §  Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or
    • §  Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, or
    • §  Independent Marriage and Family Therapist in Ohio

    §  Certification:

    o   Certified as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) within 2 years from date in position.

    o   Has completed the qualifying training and exam to be a Substance Abuse Professional according to the Federal Dept. of Transportation Guidelines within 2 years from date in position.

    Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3  years of job-related experience

    Organizational Standards

    He/She is responsible for providing individual counseling, marriage and family counseling, group counseling, counseling related to problems in living, work related issues, assessment, treatment planning, recording process notes, consultation with psychiatric and psychological community resources, referral, and discharge planning summaries.

    §  He/She is also responsible for managing while maintaining the relationship with EmployeeCare accounts assigned to his/her care.

    §  The EAP Counselor-LISW/PCC/LICDC consults with his/her manager, in the treatment of clients concerning intake interviews, testing, terminations, follow-up, referrals, consultation and utilization of services and facilities.

    §  The Incumbent develops and maintains relationships with community leaders and agencies; informs appropriate persons of compliance with referrals and of the types of counseling available in EmployeeCare.

    §  Provides On Call crisis coverage for contracted employees and employers.
