    Counseling and Consultation Service within the Office of Student Life at The Ohio State University is posting for 4 full-time clinicians. We currently have 12 full time Counselors on staff. This is a fantastic environment for Counselors.

    About Counseling and Consultation Service

    Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) is a department within the Office of Student Life with the purpose of providing counseling and mental health services to the Ohio State University campus. The mission of CCS is to promote the well-being and academic success of students through access to diverse mental health services and outreach, while providing a multidisciplinary training program. The staff includes 48 senior staff (psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, and social workers), 2 contract staff, 19 trainees, and 12 administrative staff.

    Counseling and Consultation Service is housed in two main locations across campus, including the 4th floor of the state-of-the-art Younkin Success Center and the newly renovated 10th floor of Lincoln Tower. Both locations house a variety of offices that support students’ success at Ohio State.

    Title: Clinical Therapist

    Number of Positions Available: 4, 100% FTE

    Summary of Duties: Provides individual, couples and group counseling to university students and their family members; provides diagnostic assessment and psychotherapeutic services to students regarding problems relating to stress, developmental issues, career, academics, interpersonal concerns, and other mental health issues; conducts and evaluates psychoeducational workshop programs; trains and supervises graduate students in psychology, social work, counselor education, or related fields; may research student needs and develop and evaluate programs; participates in professional development and continuing education activities and consults with university personnel.

    Required Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field or Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field. Independent licensure in the State of Ohio in professional discipline within 18 months of hire. Considerable clinical casework experience in therapy and crisis management. Supervised internship or work equivalent experience in university counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting. Experience providing psychotherapy, diagnostic assessment and outreach. Demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and diversity.
