Internship Opportunities for the 2018-2019 AY
The Counseling Center (CC) at Kent State University invites applications for clinical internships for the 2018-2019 academic year for doctoral students in Counselor Education or master’s students in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The internships are designed for 20 hours per week for 32 weeks (16 weeks each semester) with the possibility of some work between semesters if necessary/preferred. Weekly internship hours may be adjusted depending on the specific needs of your internship program. Duties will consist of providing direct counseling services to clients, providing some supervision (if qualified) to counseling center practicum students, administrative duties, and other center-related duties as assigned. Interns may also participate in some school-based mental health counseling at local elementary and secondary schools should the opportunity arise. Interns will have the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide services addressing a variety of mental and emotional disorders. Internships will begin in the Fall 2018 semester.
The CC is a clinical counseling training facility that provides clinical counseling services to KSU students and members of the surrounding community. It maintains day, evening, and weekend hours and is free-of-charge to KSU students. The CC utilizes EMR software for scheduling and documentation and records all training sessions.

Interested individuals should send a cover letter and current vitae including 2 references to Dr. Jason Miller, Director, The Counseling Center at jmille4@kent.edu At least one of the references should be someone who can speak to the applicant’s clinical abilities (e.g. past practicum instructor, supervisor).
