Title:   Full Time Substance Abuse Counselor Abuse
Location:  Kent, OH
Schedule:  Monday - Friday 5:30 am - 2pm

Primary Job Function:

Counselor supervisor will be in charge of supervising counselors in providing compassionate care to patients enrolled in medication assisted treatment by utilizing best practices in the treatment of opioid addiction. Counselor supervisor will oversee counselors conducting individual and group sessions to help patients develop the skills and support needed for a successful recovery from opioid use disorder.  Counselor supervisor will collaborate with doctors, nurses and counselors throughout treatment to ensure high-quality care that maximizes each patient’s progress toward individualized treatment goals.  Counselor supervisor will support and foster the professional development of the counselors while maintaining a positive, trauma-informed, supportive environment of care for the patients.

Essential Job Functions:

·        Assigns counselors’ caseloads, amends when necessary

·        Conducts quality assurance file reviews

·        Direct and supervise all intake operations

·        Maintain counseling caseload

·        Manages all counseling staff. Facilitates performance improvement discussions, documentation and follow up

·        Monitors treatment and counseling of all patients

·        Other related duties as determined by supervisor

 Qualifications | Education | Certifications:

·        Must possess OH LICDC, LPCC or LISW. Supervisory credential preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates in the process of obtaining supervisory endorsement.

·        Must exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.

·        Must have at least one year of experience treating patients with substance use disorders.  Previous experience with medication assisted treatment preferred.

·        Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
